Summary: In mid-Feb. 2022, Jiuwu Hi-tech and Xuzhou Titanium signed an agreement of titanium gypsum utilisation project.
On 17 Feb., 2022, Jiangsu Jiuwu Hi-tech Co., Ltd. (Jiuwu Hi-tech) and Xuzhou Titanium Dioxide Chemical Co., Ltd. (Xuzhou Titanium), a subsidiary of Gpro Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. (Gpro Titanium), held a signing ceremony on titanium gypsum utilisation project in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. This project will deal with 4,000 m3 TiO2 acid waste water per day and produce 85,000 tonnes architectural gypsum powder per year; the quality of the product will exceed level 3.0 of GBT9776-2008 Calcined Gypsum and can be used in production of plaster gypsum, gypsum-based self-levelling material and gypsum block.
Jiuwu Hi-tech signed China's first titanium gypsum architectural gypsum utilisation demonstration project with Nanjing Titanium Dioxide Chemical Co., Ltd. (Nanjing Titanium), another wholly-owned subsidiary of Gpro Titanium in March 2021. Jiuwu Hi-tech's agreement with Xuzhou Titanium is the company's second cooperation with Gpro Titanium in titanium gypsum utilisation technical application. This project will not only enable Xuzhou Titanium to tackle gypsum storage problem, but also create economic benefit. The cooperation of the two sides in titanium gypsum will promote their business development, realise resource sharing, and give play to complementary advantages
Titanium gypsum is a headache for the green development of TiO2 industry and reduction from the source is an effective way to turn solid waste into resource. Thus this project will be a solution to titanium gypsum heaping and environmental problem of TiO2 industry. General Manager with Jiuwu Hi-tech said that the company will strengthen communication with Xuzhou Titanium to ensure that this project will be put into operation in late June 2022 and generate benefits; the company will build this project into a benchmark project in field of titanium gypsum utilisation, bring along the green and sustainable development of TiO2 industry, and make contributions to local high-quality development of "zero-waste city" following the requirements of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".
